Our Calvary Chapel Roots

Calvary ATX is part of the Calvary Chapel family of churches. While each Calvary Chapel church is locally governed and led, we share a common spiritual heritage shaped by a deep love for Jesus Christ, a commitment to teaching the whole Word of God, and a desire to live out our faith simply and faithfully.

Our connection to Calvary Chapel is not about a denomination or a name. It is about a shared conviction that God’s Word should be taught clearly, consistently, and without compromise, allowing the Holy Spirit to work through the Scriptures in the lives of His people.

Calvary Chapel emerged during the Jesus Movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s, a time when many young people were searching for truth, purpose, and hope. God used this movement to draw people back to the Bible, emphasizing grace, simplicity, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

From the beginning, the focus was not on programs or performance, but on faithfully teaching the Scriptures and trusting God to transform lives through His Word.

While Calvary Chapel churches may look different in style and size, they share several core distinctives that shape how ministry is carried out.
